apiVU is a local-first Chrome and Edge extension for creating and sending REST API requests from cURL commands you paste.

What apiVU stores

When you save a request, apiVU keeps its URL, method, headers, authentication values, cookie values, body, collection name and source cURL in the browser’s local extension storage on your device. This storage is not encrypted by apiVU. apiVU does not use browser sync, run a data-collection server, or send your collections to the developer.

What happens when you send a request

When you choose Send, the request goes directly from your browser to the API host shown in it. That host receives the request data and normal connection details such as your IP address, and its own privacy terms apply. apiVU asks for access to that host only when needed; if you deny it, nothing is sent.

What apiVU does not do

Exports and deletion

Exports are downloaded to your device. By default, auth values, cookies and common URL secrets are redacted; request bodies are included and may contain sensitive data. You can delete saved requests individually, use Clear local data to remove everything, or uninstall the extension.
